The Cairn of Spirals and Webs:

Essentially this Cairn is a spiral held in place by Intersectional Lines which create a web. I start this Cairn by naming the anchors of the web, the arms, and then linking the arms together with the content I am working on to create the spiral or web. This Cairn produces some amazing thought clarity. I find that I often complete one iterative cycle and then have to wait, or use it for awhile, until the next creative iteration shows up; generating the web one cycle at a time. I used the Cairn of Spirals and Webs to think about the learning processes that generate Emergent Teams. The outcome is not at all what I initially imagined, which shows the non-linear action of the Cairn.

This Cairn works when you:

• Need to add non-linearity to your linear, sequential thinking

• Are thinking about the evolution of repeated or cyclical events

• Need to understand how change at one point impacts the whole system
